The features of the kitespot in Oostvoorne include but are not limited to:
There are two main spots we visit in oostvoorne. The 'main' spot is the biggest of the two. Here the wind is usually slightly softer but more consistent and the water is consitently shallow allowing kitesurfers to walk upwind in the sea. The second spot is called 'Slufter'. Here the wind tends to blow harder as it is less inland. Also there are many waves often big enough for surfers. We usually prefer the first spot due to how safe it is and present ideal conditions for the novice kiteboarder.
One side of the kitesurf zone is delimited by wooden poles stuck in the sand and floating buoys. This is because past this border is a protected birds area. Pay attention not to cross this border! A 260EUR sanction is given to those who are caught entering the protected area.
